Overview

The Training Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating staff training and development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and delivery of training plans, programs, and materials through collaboration and communication with the training staff, contractors or vendors retained to support training functions, management, and other program stakeholders
  • Manage instructor and classroom schedules; ensures facility setup, audiovisual setup, and participant notification
  • Supervises training staff; drives team member satisfaction, retention and development
  • Deliver training or coaching as needed on topics such as telephone protocols, customer services skills, program information, and software/technology proficiency. Training department performance results obtained through quality assurance monitoring of trainees
  • Ensure that training materials are updated based on latest program and technology changes
  • Ensure that Trainers and all program staff are provided with up-to-date knowledge of project-related updates, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare training resources and maintain a library of training aids
  • Oversee and assist in the creation of training modules to be delivered in a classroom setting and electronically
  • Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs developed or administered through evaluation, testing, and assessment of program outcomes
  • Provide reports on training status, as required
  • Participate in program, client, and vendor meetings, calls and conferences
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by program management

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in related field, equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 4 years training experience required
  • 2 years supervisory/ management experience
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  • Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of people
  • Ability to motivate and inspire audience to engage in subject material
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds 
  • Work is constantly performed in an office environment
