The Policy and Procedure Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining all policy, procedure, and work instruction documents consistent with all applicable program guidelines.


  • Develops documents to help maintain an effective set of policies, procedures, and work instructions (consistent with program guidelines).
  • Interfaces with management and staff to determine appropriate policy, procedure, and work instruction requirements.
  • Performs research and review documents to identify gaps in documentation.
  • Remains current on policies and procedures for all business areas.
  • Assists with the development of documentation requirements for new and/or changing business processes. 
  • Analyzes effectiveness of documentation and recommend improvement opportunities to management.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent years of experience
  • 1+ years of similar work experience.
  • Experience with business writing. 
  • Experience with MS Office programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding systems and quality principles.
  • Experience in working directly or indirectly with operations/customer service teams.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
  • Responsible for adhering to established safety standards
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds 
  • Work is constantly performed in an office environment
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management


  • Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and related legislation/regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and/or other New Jersey benefit programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of Call Center or data processing operations preferred.
  • Experience with eligibility, enrollment or related programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance preferred.
