Overview

The Sr. BPM/BI Analyst is an integral part of the MAXIMUS BI and analytics team that contributes to the successful delivery of business intelligence, process analytics and reporting across the entire organization.  MAXIMUS BI spans the spectrum from designing, documenting, and executing business processes to product deployments to performing root cause and other operational analyses.  The Senior Analyst transforms the user experience in a collaborative environment, interacting with process owners, operational managers as well as application and BI developers.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, define, document, and maintain clear, accurate, and correctly detailed BPMN 2.0-based process models.
  • Create and manage allied process documentation including business needs statements, business requirements, use case documentation, test plans, report specifications; ensuring all required process documentation is accurate, correctly detailed, maintained and organized in the appropriate repository.
  • Design, execute and evaluate test plans to ensure source data are accurately represented in presentation data objects (dashboards/reports).
  • Facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate requirements, process design, and business intelligence/reporting needs.
  • Mentor, train, and provide guidance, background information, and assistance to managers, analysts and other staff on standards and best practices in the following areas: business and operational analysis, and interpretation and effective use of process models, presentation objects and other analysis artifacts.
  • Plan and execute analysis – often interrogating data and other information to perform root cause analysis, impact assessments, or to identify key measures and indicators of process performance making recommendations to improve or correct performance
  • Ensure requirements are met and intended benefits are realized through the effective use of data via a range of visualizations (e.g, dashboards, reports), and alerts while instituting standards and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Policy or other area focused on quantitative analytics, applied mathematics; Master's degree in related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience successful use of analytic thinking, applying methods to determine root cause/solve problems.
  • A demonstrated ability to interrogate data and communicate analysis findings to a technical and non-technical audience is essential.     
  • 5+ year’s successful application of process-driven analysis skills and requirements elicitation.
  • Strong analytical & quantitative (statistical) skills, ability to “investigate” data
  • SQL (advanced) skills required            
  • Business processing modeling skills preferred (BPMN skills a plus)
  • Contact center processes and systems (IVR/ACD/WFM) preferred
  • Knowledge of Government health programs (e.g. Medicaid, Managed Care) preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and also in a collaborative team setting juggling multiple priorities in a changing environment
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal) with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization  
  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Minimum 25% Travel
