MAXIMUS is looking for a Business Systems Analyst with experience gathering, deriving and analyzing business requirements and establishing systems specifications. The role will include decomposing requirements and engaging with architects and senior engineers to capture business and technical solutions architecture. The individual must have over 5 years of experience in all aspects of business and systems analysis supporting large complex enterprise IT programs. Ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience supporting a variety of technology programs and implementation methodologies to include agile and other lean approaches. As a member of the Strategic Solutions group, the candidate must have proven experience to operate independently and demonstrated experience supporting a team of architects and senior engineers including documentation and facilitation of solution discussions.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal teams to lead, analyze and present business objectives and systems/solution requirements
  • Identify and document a detailed understanding of the solution requirements based on the review, of RFIs, RFPs and RFQs for response development
  • Decompose and document concept of operation, facilitate solution discussions, and map business use cases to solution components
  • Identify system gaps with existing organization solutions based on RFP requirements and capture appropriate solution to enable a holistic solution
  • Research, analyze and provide insights specific to various technology and industry trends based on organization vision
  • Support the development of whitepapers and solution concepts specific to an industry and in some cases specifically to address a business objective
  • Develop and provide presentations of business solutions to both internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Extend and partner with internal/external resources to identify and contribute to continuous improvements of solution development processes and approaches across multiple projects
  • Support and engage on existing operational programs and projects to facilitate requirements, and testing functions as needed

 

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field from an accredited college or university required
  • At least five (5) years of Business Systems Analyst experience required
  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience in an IT consulting roles supporting business and systems analysis on enterprise IT programs required
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders or from RFIs and RFPs, to capture business and system requirements required
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks through delivery with minimal guidance and available resources required
  • Experience with a variety of approaches and tools to effectively capture and articulate business requirements and solution to internal stakeholders required
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-tasking, prioritization of work tasks to deliver effectively within short time frames and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong demonstrated skills with analytical problem solving abilities, proven capability to collaborate with other team members while actively seeking input from sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills to senior management both internal and external including SMEs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work independently on a complex task with very little supervision and management oversight

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a fast-paced Information Technology environment
  • Ability to sit for up to 80% of time

Additional Requirements, as per Contract/Client:

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residents only
