Overview

The Director of Human Capital will partner with project management teams to ensure business success through the development of effective human resource programs and processes. The Director will also serve as a member of the broader Segment and Company Human Capital leadership team and support new business initiatives and project start-ups.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective staffing strategies that support a project’s underlying business
  • Act as a key adviser to project management teams on human capital matters
  • Oversee a wide variety of employee relations activities for projects under management
  • Translate overall Corporate business strategies, values and goals into project-level human capital initiatives
  • Ensure coordination of project policies and procedures with Corporate and Segment standards 
  • Develop and implement project-level policies and procedures where necessary 
  • Continuously evaluate processes and implement improvements to reduce risk and deficiencies
  • Direct project Human Capital staff in the performance of their duties, establishment of work priorities and the implementation of management initiatives
  • Effectively manage staffing agencies and other vendors who provide staffing or other resources essential to project operation
  • Act as a liaison with Corporate and Segment Human Capital staff, as required, to support broad initiatives, including benefits program administration and roll-outs, compensation structure development and maintenance, compliance and reporting functions, performance management, training and development and new hire orientation
  • Develop and implement communication and motivation programs designed to engage the entire project workforce to focus on key strategies and priorities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal federal, state and local requirements and company policies
  • Support in the development of annual planning and execution of performance management plans
  • Identify, develop, and analyze critical employee information reports and local employment market data to identify related trends and solutions important to the project in achieving its business goals
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Human Resource Information Systems database by working closely with corporate Human Resources
  • Keep abreast of current and developing trends and utilizes best practices in all Human Capital activities
  • Identify critical human resource and organizational issues and takes appropriate actions to develop and implement solutions
  • Assist human capital colleagues throughout the company in developing, sharing and leveraging best-practices 
  • Assist other projects and Company initiatives during periods of peak volume or large roll-outs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (advanced degree preferred) in management or organizational development
  • 6 – 10 years human capital/human resources experience in a large, company as a human resources manager
  • Experience in managing employee relations, benefits and compensation administration, employee communications, policy development, employee/management training and HRIS programs
  • Excellent project management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all information
  • Experience in Medi-Cal or Medicaid preferred.
