Overview

The Transportation and Claims Supervisor is responsible for the processing function of CSC Transportation Authorization Unit and the Claims Unit, including adjudication of forms and claims in accordance with state regulations and department policies and procedures. The Supervisor acts as liaison to the state: MassHealth and Human Services Transportation, and Regional Transit Authorities for customer service issues. The Supervisor is responsible for representing MassHealth at appeals hearings. The Supervisor also supervises operations and 10-15 employees.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, supervises, develops and trains staff
  • Responsible for daily work flow management; including providing staff with daily work assignments
  • Oversees and ensures the accuracy of data entry, adjudication and escalation processing
  • Ensures that staff handle all member and provider contacts accurately and provide exemplary customer service
  • Responsible for internal data submission and reporting, including 45a monthly totals, semi/annual report data and change control documentation, which is distributed to CSC leadership and EOHHS
  • Represents MassHealth at appeal hearings; makes every effort to resolve member issues prior to appeal, ensures that all appropriate documentation to support the appeal is accurate and available on time, supervises a back-up appeal coordinator based on business need
  • Resolves sensitive, client requested issues regarding as needed
  • Acts as liaison to state and participates in meetings as needed
  • Develops and implements work instructions and new policies/procedures
  • As subject matter expert; prepares Knowledge Center and Training documentation as needed to support training and new initiatives
  • Keeps staff updated regarding policy and procedures changes and any other relevant information that might affect their jobs
  • Ensures that staff fully adhere to MAXIMUS and CSC privacy, confidentiality and HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • High School diploma
  • Associates degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in customer service function in a leadership role required
  • Minimum 3 years of transportation operations experience required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Exemplary customer service, organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and time management skills
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office
  • Able to pick up boxes up to 30-40 lbs. as needed. This position requires repetitive lifting, bending and squatting.
