The Human Capital Generalist contributes to business partnerships and the full employment life cycle, including development and implementation of staffing, onboarding, individual and management development, performance management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, compensation, reward and recognition, succession planning and regulatory compliance processes to attract, retain, develop and engage a talented and diverse workforce for organizational excellence.


  • Manage Employee Relations with assigned Business Partners – coaching, counseling, disciplinary action through termination, employee complaint investigation and resolution
  • Implement and administer MAXIMUS Corporate policies and procedures (including compliance and health and safety)
  • Support Business Partners with Performance Reviews and Management (Focal Point, goals and objectives and succession planning)
  • Act as the liaison for all promotions/demotions/lateral transfers that are implemented at the local and corporate levels. Provide compensation and benefits information to employees. Partner with departments to manage benefit enrollment process. 
  • Create and Conduct orientation and onboarding
  • Collaborate with management on organizational planning and staffing recruitment and selection
  • Lead Employee Engagement initiatives by collaborating with leadership (job descriptions, employee development, recognition processes)
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in Human Resources or a related field. Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3 years of human resources experience
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law
  • Experience with investigating and resolving difficult employee relations issues, including harassment
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Proficient in Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Proficient in HRIS systems
  • Responsible for adhering to established safety standards
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds 
  • Work is constantly performed in an office environment
