Project/Position Introduction

*This is a remote position that requires working from a home office; candidates may be located anywhere in the US.

Overview

Reporting to the Business Analysis Manager, the Analyst designs, documents, and studies the use of business processes with an operation with the goal of driving process repeatability and improvement through efficient process design, quantitative process analysis, and staffing optimization.

 

The position is responsible for overseeing the effective use of data, reports, and business processes to support project operations, operational improvement, and workforce management and optimization.

 

The position closely collaborates with the corporate SOA PAX function for best practice methods and technical expertise. Emphasizing effective collaboration with all process stakeholders, the Analyst utilizes documented processes and workflows, determine the impact of proposed changes on underlying processes, and make appropriate recommendations for operational execution that will positively impact effectiveness - especially related to staffing and performance.

 

The position also analyses process performance using existing reporting capabilities in order to detect process performance problems and define improvements. The position provides guidance, background information, and assistance to management staff on the development of new reports and the modification and interpretation of existing reports to support operational review.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop expert knowledge of daily operations and collaborate with supervisors, managers and front-line staff to uncover operational problems as they occur and formulate solutions and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze data and other information in order to conceptualize and define operational problems and/or improvement opportunities. Plan and execute analysis – often interrogating data and other information to perform root cause analysis and develop an impact assessment.
  • Facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) in order to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate requirements, process design, and operational needs.
  • Identify key measures and indicators of operational and process performance used, how they will be presented to process stakeholders, and the actions needed to improve or correct performance.
  • Support data analytics through the development (and maintenance) of accurate forecasts to predict staff/capacity need under a variety of intake volumes and conditions using data/statistical analysis, simulation modeling and other mathematical methods.

  • Develop operational production plans to efficiently allocate staff resources against workload.
  • Optimize staff shifts/schedules based on the tactical forecast that are capable of meeting performance targets while allowing for training, team meetings and other such events.
  • Trains users, including executives, to transform data into action-oriented information and to use that information correctly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; field of study in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Sciences or Operations Research preferred.
  • 3+ years successful application of process driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods.
  • 3+ years of experience in day-to-day operational settings applying process improvement disciplines centered on analysis of performance data.
  • 3+ years of success use of analytical thinking, methods and tools to resolve problems.
  • SQL (basic skills required, advanced preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to elicit requirements from various personalities across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong relationship management skills, able to be effective at all organizational levels; users, team members and management.
  • Experience articulating processes in standards-based modeling languages, especially BPMN.
  • Experience with government sponsored health care programs and operations desirable.
  • Strong ability to develop/maintain forecasts to predict staff need under a variety of intake volumes and conditions.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Strong ability to facilitate information gathering sessions with business subject matter experts.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
  • Aptitude for prioritizing work within broad policies and objectives.
