Overview

This position is responsible for investigating and resolving privacy issues referred from the contact center and other departments within the project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the compliance program and enterprise risk management efforts for the project.  
  • Manage the initial screening of, timely investigation, and triaging of HIPAA/HITECH and other privacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive investigations including data gathering, analyses, and report writing 
  • Review areas previously audited to confirm proper corrective action or recommendation(s) have been implemented
  • Perform privacy audits, risk assessments and related ongoing compliance monitoring activities
  • Prepare management reports regarding privacy investigations and progress for review by leadership
  • Review and track all potential or actual privacy incidents 
  • Review existing business associate agreements to verify HIPAA/HITECH compliance 
  • Revise and develop, policies and procedures to maintain contractual, regulatory and statutory compliance 
  • Develop privacy and security training and awareness materials 
  • Support management in responding to inquiries from state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Monitor pending legislation and regulations 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Two years related work experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and thoroughness in processes and documentation
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
