The Business Process Analyst is responsible for participating in Business Process Modeling sessions, acting as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator, and subject matter expert.


  • Capture, define, document, and maintain clear, accurate, and correctly detailed process models, including business requirements and case documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary investigation for all project requests. Reviews requirements, specifications, test, support and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects.
  • Ensure all required process documentation is accurate, correctly detailed, and kept up-to-date and organized in the appropriate repository.
  • Determine how a process should work and how changes in conditions, operations, systems, and other factors will affect outcomes.
  • Facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) in order to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate requirements, process design, and business intelligence (reporting) needs.
  • Analyze data and other information in order to conceptualize and define process problems and/or improvement opportunities. Perform analysis including impact assessments on process design, business requirements, and key process performance metrics.
  • Identify key measures and indicators of process performance used in process – centric reporting, how they will be presented to process stakeholders, and the actions needed to improve or correct performance.
  • Write and author presentations to clients and other staff, often requiring clear and persuasive explanation of complex processes to a non-technical audience.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.


The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Management.
  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Management, Information Sciences or Operations Research or technology related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with the successful application of process driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods.
  • Experience in day-to-day operational settings applying process improvement disciplines centered on analysis of performance data.
  • Excellent use of analytical thinking, methods and tools to resolve problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to elicit requirements from various personalities across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong relationship management skills, able to be effective at all organizational levels; users, team members and management.
  • Experience articulating processes in standards-based modeling languages, especially BPMN.
  • Strong ability to facilitate information gathering sessions with business subject matter experts.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is constantly performed in an office environment.
  • Experience with government sponsored health care programs and operations desirable.
