Threat management is concerned identifying threats and mitigating their effects to ensure the security of all employees and assets. Threats include insider threat, active shooter, counter-intelligence and anti-terrorism.

 

Work in this security function is concerned primarily with the protection of sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, installations, or other sensitive materials, resources, or processes against criminal, terrorist, or hostile intelligence activities. Threat management specialists develop security policy and design, develop, evaluate, and sometimes install protection systems and devices to insure that sensitive information, equipment, and other material is not compromised. Threat management includes the following areas: threat assessment and mitigation, insider threat monitoring and response, active shooter education, training, and drills, counter-intelligence operations and intelligence gathering, information security support, and anti-terrorism planning , evaluation and mitigation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys and analysis to identify how critical and vulnerable facilities or sites are
  • Consult with operating personnel and other security specialists to devise programs
  • Inspect, analyze and evaluate security systems within the organization
  • Assess the adequacy of threat management systems
  • Recommend appropriate corrective action where security requirements are not being observed
  • Be involved in and support integration of security considerations and systems
  • Support day to day threat management operations

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years in physical security support including threat management
  • Knowledge of threat management standards
  • Analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Experience in insider threat systems management preferred
  • Experience in Force protection, active shooter response and operations security preferred
  • Experience in emergency command center operations preferred
  • Key duplication and management skills preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to list or transport objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for up to 80% of time 
  • Ability to travel 10% of time

Per contract requirements:  

  • United States Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Top Secret Clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret SCI Security Clearance
