  • Overview

    This Business Analyst is responsible for assisting in defining, developing, and documenting business and stakeholder requirements. Facilitates processes that enable stakeholders to formulate strategy, organizational performance goals, and to identify, select, and implement appropriate ways to evaluate and monitor work against identified organizational performance objectives. Acts as a subject matter expert, and performs special projects as assigned.

    Responsibilities

     

      • Develop and maintain project business process flows, workflows and reports.
      • Develop reports and background information for staff and external sources as required.
      • Extracts, aggregates, reviews, analyzes and presents data in various formats using advance features of MS Excel, pivot tables, MS Access and other software tools.
      • Interacts with Management and Operations to summarize findings and identify organizational performance objectives and process improvement opportunities.
      • Collaborate with technical staff to design and develop reports.
      • Manages design sessions with programmers, business owners, and writes detailed requirements documents.
      • Analyzes existing systems, programs, policies and organizational processes.
      • Documents best practices and continuously measure outcomes for desired results and improvements.
      • Performs business case analysis and requirements definitions
      • Supports requirements management
      • Supports systems analysis and design
      • Assists with development, maintenance and update of policies, procedures, processes, and protocols
      • Performs administrative tracking and reporting
      • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

     

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
    • Minimum 2 years of related work experience required
    • Strong working relationship and critical thinking skills 
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Knowledge of methods of developing business process specifications; procedures and methods for testing business functions within systems; producing effective project documentation
    • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, health plans, or HIPAA compliance
    • Superior analytical and writing skills
    • Experience in report development and data collection and analysis 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to use spreadsheet, database, MS Office Suite, and/or reporting software to do analysis  
    • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline and detailed-oriented work environment 
    • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
