The Computer Security Systems Specialist I analyzes and defines security requirements for Multilevel Security (MLS) issues including the design, development, engineering and implementation of solutions to meet these MLS requirements.


  • Review and approve network architecture design from a security best practices and NIST standards perspective
  • Review and approve application firewall rules
  • Review and approve security implications of all system/server changes
  • Responsible for Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) for all Applications Hosting systems including design and implementation of datacenter security shared services 
  • Responsible for Scanning and vulnerability remediation tracking for all Applications Hosting systems
  • Maintain ISO 27001 Certification

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science required; equivalent years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • At least three (3) years of experience in developing and implementing computer security systems solutions required
  • CISSP certification preferred
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Computer Security Systems
  • Understanding of risk analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, HHS, and OMB guidelines

Experience/Knowledge of the following concepts preferred:

  • Network Security
  • ISO 27 K
  • PII security
  • NIST 800-53
  • Government Security Controls

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a general office environment
  • Ability to sit for up to 80% of time

Additional Requirements as per Contract/Client:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Security Clearance
  • United States Citizenship or Permanent Residency
