    **This is a REMOTE/Work-at-Home role from anywhere in the US**


    Reporting to the Director of Data Analysis, the Sr. Analyst designs, documents, and studies business processes with the goal of driving process repeatability and improvement. As a key member of the SOA PAX group, this position will have a keen interest in applying statistical analysis, optimization/simulation modeling, and incorporation of machine learning and big data analytics into real-world operational processes especially in forecasting, staffing optimization, and process design. This role will have a passion for interpreting the "story in
    the data" for a lay audience and using that information to drive process-centric improvement. The role will interact will all levels of the organization and must be willing to work directly on the "front lines". The position will provide leadership to other staffs and seek out innovations that have measurable ROI. In addition, the Sr. Analyst will participate in other continuous process improvement activities, help in managing projects, and execute ad-hoc requests.


    The position is expected to travel up to 25-50% of their time.


    • Capture, define, document, and maintain clear, accurate, and correctly detailed BPMN 2.0- based process models and allied process documentation including business requirements, and use case documentation. Ensure all required process documentation is accurate, correctly detailed, and kept up-to-date and organized in the appropriate repository.
    • Determine how a process should work and how changes in conditions, operations, systems, and other factors will affect outcomes.
    • Facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) in order to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate requirements, process design, and business intelligence (reporting) needs.
    • Identify key measures and indicators of process performance used in process centric reporting, how they will be presented to process stakeholders, and the actions needed to improve or correct performance.
    • Support data analytics through the development (and maintenance) of accurate forecasts to predict staff/capacity need under a variety of intake volumes and conditions using data/statistical analysis, simulation modeling and other mathematical methods.
    • Determine appropriate analytic approach (e.g. skim relevant data or creation of structured database for manipulation, etc.).
    • Pull data into analytic environment using Oracle, SQL, Hadoop, Access or Excel.
    • Develop expert knowledge of daily operations and collaborate with supervisors, managers and frontline staff to uncover operational problems as they occur and formulate solutions and improvement opportunities.
    • Mentor, train, and provide guidance, background information, and assistance to managers, analysts and other staff on standards and best practices in the following areas: business and operational analysis, and interpretation and effective use of process models, presentation objects and other analysis artifacts.
    • Write and author presentations to clients and other staff, often requiring clear and persuasive explanation of complex processes to a non-technical audience.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • BS required, (MS or PhD preferred), in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related
    • 2+ years of experience in data analysis with heavy emphasis on data-driven decision
    • Successful implementation of business process and simulation modeling including observation and subject matter expert interviewing techniques, model verification and model validation
    • Familiarity with relational databases
    • Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R (preferred), Matlab, MiniTab, SAS
    • Experience working with large data sets, experience working with (not architecture design of) distributed computing tools a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive)
    • Must be able to business travel from 25-50% of the time
