    As a member of the senior leadership team for MAXIMUS Federal Services, the Medical Director provides strategic and tactical oversight and guidance essential to the effective and compliant operation of the Segment's healthcare-related projects.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in strategy development initiatives to increase health business
    • Manages /oversees and approves the development, interpretation and implementation of all medical policies, ethical guidelines and performance standards for MFS programs in the healthcare arena; ensures that these policies are communicated to appropriate staff for execution
    • Based on operational data, a strong understanding of internal and external customer requirements, and input from operations leadership, oversees resource allocation among multiple projects to effectively meet staffing needs and customer requirements. Partners with Human Capital on recruiting and hiring to attract and retain a qualified pool of medical staff
    • Prepares and recommends qualifications requirements for credentialing, job descriptions, and evaluation standards for all medical staff
    • Is responsible for and oversees the SMI Eligibility Determination functions, including management of the clinical, quality management and medical management components of the programs

    • Attends AHCCCS Medical Director meetings, as directed by AHCCCS

    • Advises on health information system needs; develops, recommends, and conduct special studies of health needs and priorities, interprets clinical data

     

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Arizona-licensed physician, in good standing, board-certified in psychiatry required
    • Substantive experience as a Medical Director, including in areas such as organizational development, compliance and thought leadership
    • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication Strong persuasive and presentation skills, self-starter, strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Meets or exceeds all standards established for this position
    • Demonstrates teamwork and promotes positive company relations
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
    • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
    • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
