  • Overview

    Manages the successful operation and administration of the Company’s benefits programs in the areas of vendor management, day -to-day operations, employee support, compliance, and systems.  Manages a team of 4 benefits analysts and all vendor relationships to deliver cost effective benefit programs (medical, dental, 401-K, life and AD&D Insurance, and all SCA health and welfare programs.)



    • Oversee the daily operations of the benefits department, including standard and Service Contract Act (SCA) benefit plans, escalated employee inquiries and billing for a growing organization
    • Enhance current processes and policies to meet the changing demands of the organization, including leave administration advancements, SCA benefits administration streamlining, and response to contracts compliance
    • Manage all benefit vendors to ensure service level agreements are met and benefit programs are applied consistently
    • Oversees the legal compliance of our programs including our large SCA population and informs the executive team of pending legislative trends
    • Works collaboratively with other department sand operations teams to generate labor models that enable business success
    • Prepares compelling business case presentations to present recommended solutions to Sr. Management
    • Makes recommendations for cost savings or cost-containment opportunities for the business
    • Manages all aspects of MAXIMUS wellness program, including Smoking Cessation Program
    • Review all benefit appeals requests, research and collaboratively determine outcome/decision
    • Manage the annual benefits renewals and Open Enrollment, including vendor coordination, enrollment configuration testing, and communications
    • Partner with field HR operations teams to support initiatives, provide training and resolve escalated issues
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree Required
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in benefits, with minimum 5 in a management role
    • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) preferred 
    • Detailed oriented
    • Strong analytic and financial skills
    • Workday experience required
    • Intermediate level proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills
    • Ability to problem-solve and work in a team environment
    • CEBS or related certification is a plus
    • Experience working for government contractors desired
    • Experience with populations covered by the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA)
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
    • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds 
    • Work is constantly performed in an office environment
