    Overview

    The Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager coordinates and oversees the successful delivery of business intelligence technical requirements and technical application testing to the entire organization. The Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager is an experienced leader in BI and data science systems requirements analysis and testing applied to both back end source systems analysis and data visualization and presentation. With an emphasis on effective collaboration with key stakeholders, the Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager owns responsibility for the delivery of technical requirements, technical specifications, and the subsequent development of technical test plans for the designed solution. The Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager enforces a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and industry standards with an emphasis on building a library of reusable templates supporting all phases for systems requirements analysis and testing during BI application development and ongoing support. The Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager has deep theoretical and practical knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities specific to data integration and analytics. The Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager is expected to apply independent judgment and initiative in carrying out and assigning tasks and will function as a lead and mentor to developers. In addition, the Data Analytics Systems Analysis Manager facilitates collaboration with other analysis and development teams to create standards and best practices for systems technical requirements and testing of BI and data science solutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively lead and mentor teams of systems analysts.
    • Oversee development and application of a structured approach and methodology to technical requirements and systems application testing that aligns with the key strategies of the organization to support BI and data science application development and delivery.
    • Oversee development and maintenance of technical requirements and test plans for delivery of BI and data science solutions.
    • Translate technical requirements in data mapping across multiple systems and data sources
    • Define, implement, refine, and enforce the BI and data science technical and testing methodology including developing standards, guidelines, and best practices.
    • Design, execute and evaluate test plans to ensure source data are accurately represented in presentation data objects (dashboards/reports).
    • Facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) in order to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate technical requirements, process design, and business intelligence (reporting) needs.
    • Ensure technology solutions are production ready and meet the defined technical specifications.
    • Oversee ongoing support and maintenance of deployed BI and data science solutions.
    • Responsible for adhering to all established safety standards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Master's degree preferred
    • 3+ years as a technical systems analyst lead.
    • 10+ years of related systems analysis experience, technical requirements analysis and specifications, technical test planning and execution
    • 8+ years of experience in a systems analyst technical role supporting BI and data science efforts.  This should include application of knowledge in statistics, data wrangling, and data visualization & communication.
    • 5+ years of SQL development experience to analyze source application systems.
    • Excellent analytical & quantitative skills, statistical knowledge a plus
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
    • Demonstrated ability to perform Process Centric business and technical analysis
    • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to produce high quality documentation of business and system requirements, system design, system testing, and training materials.
    • Strong relationship management skills; able to interface effectively with all organizational levels: business users, business analyst, technical application development team members, and management.
    • Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
    • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business, with understanding of the roles of strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and also in a collaborative team setting
