    Overview

    Position will be responsible for ongoing application administrations and support for shared services managed within the H&HS space. Focused work around the ongoing technical solutions around service management and service management updates. Resource to assist with Priority 1&2 escalations within MAXIMUS IT which includes in-depth knowledge of all components within the infrastructure space.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Perform work submitted by projects when reporting application issues such as performance and service availability.
    • Perform issue investigation for reported anomalies escalated by the supported projects and work within the MAXIMUS IT organization to include additional team members from different teams to assist in investigating their areas of control.
    • Assist in new environment installation under guidance of the Appadmin Intake Manager.
    • Address reported monitoring alerts and ensure that issues which may impact the long term stability of an application solution is identified and escalated to the Application Administration management staff.
    • Provide ongoing documentation and support for known issues which have been discovered throughout the course of delivering application administrative support to the projects.
    • Documentation to include known errors and processes performed to resolve and address the reported issue as well as communicating back to the rest of the team when an existing knowledge article document is updated or created new.
    • Participate within security remediation tasks managed within the team.
    • After hours support.
    • Participate in after-hours critical production support. This includes answering calls received by the Incident management team or Service Desk when a service outage is reported.

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; field of study in Computer Sciences preferred.
    • Equivalent years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
    • Must have 3+ years of hands on experience within Weblogic, Tomcat or TC server and apache experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of administration in a UNIX (Solaris) or Linux (RHEL) command-line environment. 
    • Optimize application performance by tuning application server components.
    • Thorough understanding of architectural elements required to support large installations and maintain high availability such as clustering and load balancing w.r.t above listed applications.
    • Able to work in fast paced environments and have understanding of programming environments.
    • Proactive, can-do attitude whose actions work toward continuous process improvement.
    • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, collaborative within the team.
    • Must be able to write effective technical documents and reports as a primary focus of daily duties.
    • Excellent communication ability (verbal, written, and presentation) and an effective team player.
    • Experience supporting all phases of the system development life cycle including development, testing, QA and production.
    • Must exercise effective judgment and follow established procedures in support of production, 24x7, and other critical environments.
    • Relevant industry certifications (Java, Unix/Linux, MCSE, Application Server, Database, Image Capture) preferred.
    • Familiar with Microsoft IIS administration, configuration, and deployments for .NET applications preferred.
    • Knowledge of government sponsored health care programs and systems preferred.
