  • Overview

    The Vice President - Future Market Development will lead a team that leverages quantitative and independent research skills in analysis of large, complex and incomplete data sets to identify and assess potential adjacent market opportunities that result in measurable revenue growth. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of MAXIMUS US Health's efforts to expand its market presence both vertically and horizontally, in consultation with MAXIMUS executive management.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead research and analysis to assess, quantify, and qualify new markets
    • Decide upon the viability of investments or new market opportunities and whether to present as options to senior management; determine what investments are presented to senior management as well as what adjacent market opportunities the company chooses to develop
    • Develop competitive pricing analysis that informs MAXIMUS bidding strategy and determine MAXIMUS pricing strategy that directly impacts our competitiveness in the marketplace
    • Develop solution gap analysis and roadmaps to inform future investments and Operations priorities; help expand the overall capability of the US Health Business Group and impact what we can offer in the marketplace
    • Manage competitor profiling activities, assign risk scores and priority levels to competitors on individual bid pursuits
    • Inform competitive strategy for individual pursuits that impact the teaming arrangements that MAXIMUS pursues to improve our competitiveness
    • Manage a team of analysts according to established monitoring standards, conduct performance appraisals, makes decisions on personnel actions including hiring, firing and disciplinary actions
    • Determine operational capability of the Future Market Development team and its ability to carry out its mandate

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Public Policy (MPP) preferred, past study in health care or public policy preferred
    • 7-10 years of previous experience in a senior-level corporate strategy role or major management consulting firm preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication needed
    • Proven ability of managing upward
    • Able to execute with limited direction and high uncertainty
    • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast paced, deadline oriented work environment
    • High competency in MS Office suite
    • Ability to work independently with limited direction
    • Ability to manage subordinate staff at the entry level with limited direction or oversight
