    The Systems Engineer is an advanced position focusing on design and implementation of support technologies for an enterprise deployment of Active Directory and remediation of the existing environment, Storage and Servers (both Physical and Virtualized) Infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and configuring infrastructure components such as Windows Server 2008/2012 R2, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) server, Microsoft Terminal Services Server, and virtualization services such as VMware and Microsoft HyperV. Specifically, the Systems Engineer will be involved in the migration of Windows Server 2003 to 2012 R2, AD remediation and the upgrade of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 to 2012. Ideal candidates will have experience in more than three technology areas identified above as well as the ability to quickly learn new technologies in a dynamic enterprise environment.


    Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Design, implement and configure the systems needed to support an enterprise AD infrastructure
    • Design, implement and configure the enterprise server infrastructure and have upgraded an enterprise environment from 2008 to 2012 R2
    • Design, migrate and configure SCOM from 2007 to 2012
    • Create training material(s) to provide to the customer on all solutions implemented
    • Create standard operating procedures on all solutions implemented
    • Research, evaluate, and remain current on emerging tools, techniques, and IT technologies
    • Work closely with client to perform technical and requirements analysis

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree
    • At least three (3) years of related Systems Engineering experience required
    • At least seven (7) years of related Systems Engineering experience preferred
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies in a dynamic enterprise environment
    • Experience working side-by-side with customer personnel in an advisory, support and training role required
    • Experience supporting test lab implementations, including developing Systems Acceptance Tests required
    • Demonstrated experience developing SDLC system documentation required
    • Candidates should have experience in the following areas and be able to demonstrate exceptional competence - in three or more of the following technologies:
    o Windows Server 2008/2012 R2
    o Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012
    o Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2012
    o McAfee Host Based Security Systems
    o Virtualization (VMware and/or Microsoft HyperV)
    o Microsoft Terminal Services Server
    o Citrix
    o Windows Clustering
    o Active Directory Management
    o Scripting (PowerShell, VBS, WMI, Batch, JavaScript)
    o SAN Configuration – NetApp & HP
    o Common Backup Software
    o Common Datacenter Hardware (HP, Dell etc.)
    • Should understand and be comfortable with the following concepts:
    o ITIL
    o Configuration Management
    o Release Management
    o Change Management
    o Windows Server 2008 and 2012 R2
    o COOP and Disaster Recovery
    o Backup and Recovery Strategy
    o Enterprise Cloud

    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift or transport items weighing up to 40 lbs.
    • Work is performed in a general office environment

    Additional Requirements, as per Contract/Client:
    • Ability to obtain Public Trust - Moderate Risk security clearance
    • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

    • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
    • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
    • Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
    • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
    • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead.
