    Job Description Summary

    Major Purpose: A brief statement of the position’s overall purpose and expected end results; why it exists.

    The Compliance Sr. Specialist will lead internal audits, research and assess, and drive continuous improvement activities as part of the overall project quality program. The compliance Sr. Analyst will develop and recommend actions and initiatives to improve overall compliance and quality indicators.

    Duties / Responsibilities: Statements describing the essential (absolutely necessary) actions performed to achieve required end results.

    • Leads project related improvement opportunity and risk assessments as part of internal audits applying ISO methodologies
    • Responsible for the analysis of non-compliance incidents to support management corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to determine root cause of non-compliance incidents.
    • Leads and approves the development of project corrective action and continuous improvement plans and manages project life cycle to completion
    • Develops quality training and improvement materials and conducts training regarding compliance, privacy and quality awareness
    • Reviews and approves prepared data in support of regularly scheduled Quality meetings; facilitating as required
    • Develops project Internal Audit schedule and procedures for the Project
    • Development of departmental work instructions as well as the training for auditing activities
    • Coordinates auditing of departmental practices for maintaining ISO and Regulatory compliance and reports results
    • Supports the Compliance Manager with assigned duties and acts as the department’s subject matter expert
    • Responsible for adhering to established safety standards
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
    • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds
    • Work is constantly performed in an office environment
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Education Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
    • Advanced degree or professional designation preferred

    Background & Experience Required:
    • 5+ years of experience
    • Working knowledge of Quality Management programs and principles (ISO preferred)
    • Administration or related field with relevant course work in Health Services preferred
    • Quality Management, Analysis, Information Management (HIM), or equivalent work experience
    • Knowledge of HIPAA/ Quality Programs (ISO 9001)
    • Experience in conducting efficient and regular internal audits and quality operational assessments
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and other computer software applications. Ability to quickly learn new processes and software programs
    • Medicaid/Medicare experience preferred
    • Proven interpersonal, organizational, communications, analytical and project management skills

    - Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience; Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
    - Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
    - Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
    - Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
