    Job Description Summary

    Senior Analyst UX Data Viz Design
    This is a remote position. Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States however this position does not offer a flexible schedule and normal business hours apply. Candidates must be able to travel as needed up to 20% of the time.
    The Standardized Operations and Analytics – Performance Analytics organization is seeking a skilled visual design Analyst to join the Product Management team. The Performance Analytics Product Management team builds and maintains business intelligence, process analytics and reporting products across the entire organization. The Senior Analyst will play a lead role in user experience and design of new and improved analytics products, data analysis and other performance analytics product initiatives.
    • Design visualizations, presentation and dashboards for performance analytics products.
    • Define standards and processes to ensure best practices in visual and user experience design for analytics are rooted within the organization.
    • Improve user experience for new and existing analytic products by analyzing business needs, researching business problems, interviewing stakeholders and end users, and applying other various methods in support of user-centered design principles.
    • Lead iterative design sessions, conduct demos for key stakeholders, and provide mentoring and training to other analysts related to design of analytics presentation.
    • Identify business problems and translate business needs into design mock-ups along with dataset requirements in support of analytics visualizations.
    • Plan and execute analysis – often interrogating data and other information to perform root cause analysis, impact assessments, or to identify key measures and indicators of process performance making recommendations to improve or correct performance
    • Exert some influence on the overall strategic objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
    The Ideal Candidate will possess the Following Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Advanced skills in design of visualizations for analytics, applying best practices for visual design of intuitive analytics data presentation (chart types, visualizations, interactivity, appropriate grain).
    • Strong knowledge of best practices for UX and human design practices with a passion for creative storytelling using data to most efficiently meet business needs.
    • Strong problem solving skills with aptitude for identifying issues, determining root cause and applying creative thinking to design solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to interrogate data and communicate analysis findings to a technical and non-technical audience.
    • Advanced skills in creation of UI mock-ups (low-fi and hi-fi).
    • Skilled in creation of dashboard prototypes using BI tools such as Microstrategy (preferred), Tableau or Power BI.
    • Knowledge of Government programs (e.g. Medicaid, Managed Care) preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and also in a collaborative team setting juggling multiple priorities in a changing environment
    • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal) with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
    • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    - Plan and execute analysis – often interrogating data and other information to perform root cause analysis, impact assessments, or to identify key measures and indicators of process performance making recommendations to improve or correct performance.
    - Create and manage allied process documentation including business needs statements, business requirements, use case documentation, test plans, report specifications; ensuring all required process documentation is accurate, correctly detailed, maintained and organized in the appropriate repository.
    - Design, execute and evaluate test plans to ensure source data are accurately represented in presentation data objects (dashboards/reports).
    - Facilitate discussion among process stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to elicit, analyze, communicate (both written and verbally) and validate requirements, process design, and business intelligence/reporting needs.
    - Mentor, train, and provide guidance, background information, and assistance to managers, analysts and other staff on standards and best practices in the following areas: business and operational analysis, and interpretation and effective use of process models, presentation objects and other analysis artifacts.
    - Ensure requirements are met and intended benefits are realized through the effective use of data via a range of visualizations (e.g, dashboards, reports), and alerts while instituting standards and best practices.

    Minimum Requirements:
    - Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.
    - May have additional training or education in area of specialization.
    - Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope & complexity.
    - General application of concepts & principles.
    - Contributes to the completion of organizational projects & goals.
    - Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
    - Applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
    - Communicates on complex or sensitive issues or drafts such responses for supervisor or manager.
