About the Position

Maximus administers the Independent Practitioner Panel, which completes assessment reviews and issues practitioner orders for New Yorkers who qualify for long-term in-home care.  This is an exciting new program that directly contributes to positive long-term outcomes for vulnerable populations in New York State.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for three Sr. Managers to join the IPP's Clinical Operations Department.

 

In this position, you will oversee a group of Clinical Operations Managers, who in turn oversee their respective units of Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant staff. Position Responsibilities

  • Participates with project and executive management to establish strategic plans, objectives, initiatives, and work plans 
  • Assists in the creation and implementation of innovative methodologies, process improvements and corrective action plans to continually streamline and improve project operations, outcomes, and quality
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director on the day-to-day management of core functional areas to ensure compliance with the program contract, program business rules, and state and federal regulations
  • Analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly reports for performance measurement and efficiencies 
  • Hires, develops and supports a high-functioning, motivated, and cohesive team
  • Works with Project and executive management to develop, monitor and revise performance goals and objectives for the project and staff
  • Provides direction to team members and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner 

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of management experience 5+ years of related RN experience
  • Prior experience using the UAS-NY Community assessment tool
  • Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Program
  • NYS Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Preferred Qualfications

  • Seven (7) years of related experience practicing as a NP or PA with at least three (3) years of leadership or management experience

  • Cell Phone:  Candidates must have their own cell phone
  • Computer Equipment:  Will be provided company-issued computer equipment
  • Internet:  Reliable high-speed internet service with 100 Mbps download speed

Work Location

These positions will support regional areas of New York State.  Work location is remote.

Job Description Summary

Job Summary

The Sr. Clinical Manager oversees a team of Clinical Operations Managers, each with a team of up to ten Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioners.  The Sr. Clinical Manager addresses and resolves escalated issues and ensures their units' adherence to state and contractual requirements. The Sr. Manager works collaboratively with program leadership to address issues, areas of opportunity or identify training needs.  This position participates in recruiting activities for their assigned units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assists the Clinical Director with the day-to-day running of the core functional areas to ensure compliance with the prime contract, all subsequent amendments, program business rules, as well as state and federal regulations. 

- Analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly reports for performance measurement and efficiencies 

- Participates with project and executive management to establish strategic plans, objectives, initiatives, and work plans 

- Assists the Clinical Director in his/her efforts to facilitate a functional, motivated, and cohesive project team

- Directly supervises and manages key Project staff as determined by the Clinical Director

- Works with Project and executive management to develop, monitor and revise performance goals and objectives for the project and staff. Monitors achievement of those goals

- Provides direction to team members and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner 

- Assists in the creation and implementation of innovative methodologies, process improvements and corrective action plans to continually streamline and improve project operations, outcomes, and quality. 

- Develops, modifies, and executes project policies, ensuring all project team members comply 

- Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position

- Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management 

Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Program required

- NYS Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required

- Preferred Specialties For Nurse Practitioners: Internal Medicine, Adult Health, Community Health, Family Practice, Psychiatry

- Seven (7) years of related experience practicing as a NP or PA with at least three (3) years of leadership or management experience required

- Outstanding leadership skills and ability; excellent communication skills and ability to communicate successfully with all members inside and outside of the organization; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products; able to adapt to and integrate new technology; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to work as a team member, as well as independently

- Knowledge of long-term care services and programs

- Preferred – Spanish, Russian, Haitian-Creole, Chinese, Korean, Bengali

- Willingness to travel required; NY State Driver’s License required; vehicle may be required, depending on region
