Job Description Summary

Maximus is in search of a Senior Project Manager, Organizational Development. This position aligns to the Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) department, the centralized global Learning & Development function for Maximus that is a part of the Corporate Human Resources organization. L&OD oversees key talent management and development processes, programs, and services that are designed to develop and enhance the skills of our employees.

The individual in this role will work closely with multiple stakeholders including management, internal partners, and external vendors to support the successful development, implementation and ongoing delivery and operations of a variety of learning projects and programs related to key talent management areas.

Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Based on strategy, defined goals, and in partnership with key stakeholders’ responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with the planning and execution of Global Core Value programs, including workshops, trainings, meetings, and external speakers
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to effectively develop and manage change and communication plans to support L&OD
  • Identifies innovative talent development processes and tools for assessment, design, development, communication, and delivery of professional development programs
  • Develops reporting, metrics and/or scorecards to analyze, track and communicate status on L&OD initiatives (e.g., investments, impact, return on investment (ROI))
  • Collaborates to identify prioritization of organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes needed for a successful deployment of initiatives
  • Partners with the change management team to evaluate the risk of and resistance to change and recommend actionable guidelines on reducing the impact/improving potential of adoption
  • Responsible for core knowledge management and documentation. This may include but is not limited to documenting processes and best practices to assist in the development of templates, resources, policy updates, assets, and more to troubleshoot common and future issues.
  • Influences sponsors and key stakeholders to effectively guide change management of strategic efforts
  • Develops, coordinates, and facilitates presentations and training
  • Collects, analyzes, and maintains data gathered to inform targeted leadership development initiatives
  • Balance the workload of multiple L&D Projects per the agreed upon timelines.
  • Report and update leadership as appropriate or required.
  • Implement a communication and change management strategy to drive participation and impact for courses and programs.
  • Facilitate project kickoffs and milestone meetings with Business Stakeholders and appropriately engaging other L&D Resources.
  • Conduct discovery activities to determine the desired performance outcomes and existing performance gaps based on business needs.
  • Leverage deep understanding of available industry recognized content across the spectrum of our service offerings. Make recommendations that align with effective and efficient use of resources to deliver practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships. Develop and implement effective statement of work (SOW) creation, review & approval process. Develop cross functional relationships with vendor and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop program assets and materials including e-learning courses, virtual events, facilitation guides, learner workbooks, job aids, etc.
  • Facilitate and deliver classes as appropriate and necessary to key populations including our Supervisors, Managers, and Leaders.
  • Identify and prioritize professional development needs and build a short- and longer-term strategy that is actionable and measurable, demonstrating impact to the business.
  • Provide effective project intake and management with development of project plans including key milestones and deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Human Resources, Organization Development, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, or Training/Education-related degree
  • 7-10 years of experience in L&D Project Management, Instructional which may include
  • 3+ years of experience supporting the deployment of complex enterprise initiatives preferably in change management, organizational development, and/or project management roles
  • 3+ years of experience in Learning and Development with strong learning program management/curriculum management and facilitation experience
  • Demonstrated ability translate business performance gaps into learning and development strategies
  • Demonstrated, applied understanding of learning technologies such as: ILT (Instructor Led Training), Virtual ILT, online learning, learning partnerships, etc.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new business needs and strategies, flexible in alignment and approach based on market trends
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, and the ability to translate data into insightful conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects and tasks. Align resources to ensure priorities with multiple deadlines are met
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high quality results
  • Researches and keeps up to date with relevant industry trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in an industry standard change management methodology (e.g., Prosci)
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Master’s degree strongly preferred; in related field including, OD (Organizational Development), HRD, ISD (Instructional Systems Designers), Learning, Industrial Organization (I/O) Psychology or similar field of study
  • 2+ years of experience managing complex enterprise changes that require expert application of both change management principles/methodologies as well as project management approaches, tools, and project lifecycle phases

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
